It's scarcely conceivable, but after a deafening silence about the craziness of our food system, and the concomitant obsession with all things Atkins, as well as the seemingly endless succession of loony diet after loony diet, there's been a perhaps equally mad rush of books about eating sensibly and properly, books that have a more political and social justice component than just I want to lose twenty pounds and have a firm butt.
